Hal, you really think the 2 inch pipe looks ugly?
I have mine set-up with a flame heat shield so it
looks like a one piece drag pipe. You can't even
see any jury rigging between the headpipe and Auto-
zone pipe at all. I think it looks really good.
With my 8 inch baffle in it, it is very quiet, and
mellow sounding and doesn't sound at all like the
40 mm machine gun you described. I used to have
a tuned Harley slip on muffler which looked good,
but I really like the Autozone pipe much better.
I admit the quality is quite poor if you look
closely, being a cheap single wall probably chinese
pipe and will ding very easily, but I don't really
care that much about how it looks from 1 foot away.
And I don't have 150-200 dollars to spend on an
exhaust pipe. If I did I'd get the Supertrapp for
sure. It's the only pipe with tuneability and dyno-
proven power gains. I like my bike to be fast.
Actually, it ran a little better with the nearly
straight through Harley pipe, but it was too loud
and I have neighbors. Thanks for your post- I was
considering removing the baffle, but not after the
sound you described!!
